Light Chasers Vol. 3: Live at Hardware 005 is a 30-minute live set from Production Unit Xero, recorded at Hardware, a night at Process, a club in Portland, Oregon, run by my good friend John (Casual Decay).
Hardware was born out of our Second Saturday Jams, a private, collaborative improvisation series I’ve hosted in my home every second Saturday for the past five years. These recordings come from the fifth installment of Hardware.
Three days before the show, I accidentally overwrote the project on my Elektron Tonverk that held most of the material I planned to play, so I had to pivot fast and build an entirely new set from scratch. The result is unmistakably Production Unit Xero, but shaped by my take on industrial techno and variations on 4×4 rhythms.
The set moves as a single flow, dark industrial pressure into footwork and Jersey club-inspired patterns, detouring through my version of IDM, all laced with jungle breaks. Everything here was recorded live, in the moment, on the club system. Fully produced versions will come later, but these takes landed with enough energy and cohesion that I wanted to share them exactly as they happened.
